The results of the contest “The best in the profession” of Transneft were summed up in Nizhny Novgorod

The third (final) stage of the XVII professional skills contest “The best in the profession” among the employees of the entities of Transneft system was finished at Transneft Upper Volga. Representatives of 20 subsidiaries of the company - winners of the regional stages - participated in the contest.

The competitions were conducted on 10-13 July at the industrial facilities of Gorky Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate of Transneft Upper Volga: Gorky oil pump station, Starolikeyevo line operation dispatcher station, Certification & Training centre, central maintenance division and  Production Service Shop.

The main purpose of the professional skills contest at Transneft is increasing the prestige of blue-collar jobs of oil pipeline industry. It was conducted for 12 main jobs: line pipeliner, commodity loading operator, commodity loading operator (petroleum products), electric and gas welder, petroleum product pump station operator, chemical analysis laboratory assistant, instrumentation and automation fitter, processing units repairman, chemical analysis laboratory assistant (petroleum products), electrical equipment repair and maintenance fitter, truck driver, security guard.

The best representatives of blue-collar jobs were specified according to the results of the theoretical and practical parts of the contest. The contest committees’ members assessed the competitions: representatives of Transneft and heads of the entities of Transneft system, heads of subsidiaries’ specialized branches.

In total more than 200 competitors participated in the activity. The winners and prize-winners of the XVII professional skills contest “The best in the profession” received awards at the contest closing ceremony on 13 July 2017.

Boris Korol, Vice President of Transneft, said to the competitors at the official awarding ceremony: “All the participants of the contest passed serious tests and there are no losers in this contest. You obtained new skills, adopted the best practices of your colleagues and all of you are the future of Transneft”.

The names of the contest winners are traditionally registered with the special book, which together with the contest’s symbol - “Gold Barrel” - will be transferred to Transneft Druzhba, which will be the organizer of the final stage of the competitions in 2018.
