The stationary platforms for PIG traps are necessary for the timely inspection and assessment of the RPPTP’s condition, as well as for receiving cleaning devices and sealants after completion of scheduled works within overhaul of the pipelines transporting petroleum products. Earlier, in-line inspection of the RPPTP was conducted through installation of temporary PIG traps.

The works were performed in compliance with Transneft’s facilities technical upgrading and revamping programme.

Currently, construction of stationary platforms for PIG traps at the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline is underway. The works are to be completed in August 2019.

Currently, the third stage is underway, which consists in construction of stationary platforms for PIG traps at the RPPTP’s pipelines.
