Transneft Upper Volga has finished replacing electric motors on mainline and booster pump units at Dubniki and Kilemary oil pumping stations (PS) in the Republic of Mari El.
The package of measures was implemented as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme for Transneft’s facilities as well as within the energy saving and energy efficiency improvement programme.
New, higher efficiency (97.46%) electric motors, which also allow for significant power saving due to the use of air-cooling instead of water-cooling, were installed. Use of high-voltage 10 kV cables during the operation is no longer necessary. The service life of the electric motors was increased to 50 thousand hours.
The works accomplished will enhance reliability of operation of Transneft Upper Volga’s oil pipeline transportation facilities.
