Transneft Upper Volga Commissions over 114 km of Trunk Pipelines in 2018 after Revamping

Transneft Upper Volga commissioned 114.41 km of oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTP) after revamping in 2018.

The works were conducted in compliance with the development, technical upgrading and revamping programme covering Transneft Upper Volga’s trunk pipelines’ facilities. The goal is to increase reliability and ensure uninterrupted oil transportation via the system of oil trunk pipelines. 

During 2018, Transneft Upper Volga revamped 23 facilities of the line part. The main scope of work was carried out at the sections of the Surgut–Polotsk OTP located in the Republic of Mari El. Underwater crossings of the Surgut–Polotsk OTP across the rivers Rutka and B. Kundysh, B. Kokshaga in the Republic of Mari El, the river Klyazma in Vladimir Region and the Uvod River in Ivanovo Region were replaced. Revamping works were also carried out at the Novki–Ryazan PPTP’s crossings of the Gus River  in Vladimir Region and the Belaya River in Ryazan Region.

Upon the completion of the works, Transneft Upper Volga connected the newly revamped pipeline sections to the functioning oil trunk pipelines.

The technical measures were carried out in strict accordance with regulatory rules and requirements of environmental legislation.
