Transneft Upper Volga Finishes Revamping Section of Surgut – Polotsk Oil Trunk Pipeline

Transneft Upper Volga has finished revamping a section of the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) with the underwater crossing via the Chernushka River in Vorotynsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The works were performed as part of Transneft Upper Volga’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul (TUR&OH) programme.  

During the revamping, scheduled replacement of 635 metres of oil trunk pipelines within the small watercourse of the Chernushka River  was performed. Installation of gate valve nodes, telemechanics and automation systems, electrochemical protection, technical security and power supply equipment was performed, and an overhead electric power transmission line with the voltage of 10 kV was replaced.

The facility is to be commissioned in March 2019.

The Surgut – Polotsk trunk pipeline was revamped to enhance its reliability and ensure uninterrupted transportation of oil via Transneft’s oil trunk pipeline system.
