Transneft Upper Volga Completes Construction of Fire Water Tank at Ryazan PS

Transneft Upper Volga has completed the construction of a vertical steel fire water tank with a volume of 5,000 m3 (VST-5000) at Ryazan oil pumping station (PS), located in Ryazan.

The works were conducted in accordance with the technical upgrading programme for Transneft Upper Volga’s trunk pipeline facilities. 

The construction began in March 2018. Foundation was laid, and installation of the tank’s metal structures was carried out. Individual testing of engineering networks and commissioning works of power supply and automation networks were carried out. At present, comprehensive testing of equipment has been carried out, and the facility has been commissioned.

The construction of the fire water tank at  Ryazan PS is part of measures to modernise the station’s tank farm, the goal being to increase reliability and ensure uninterrupted oil transportation through the  oil trunk pipeline system.
