Date of publication: 11 April 2019

Transneft Upper Volga has completed technical upgrading of the Ryazan – Moscow oil trunk pipeline’s (OTP) sections in the streambed of the Oka in Kolomensky District (Moscow Region).

The works were performed as part of Transneft Upper Volga’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul (TUR&OH) programme.

The technical upgrading of the OTP sections started in June 2018. Scheduled replacement of 356 metres of the pipeline, including replacement of the electrochemical protection system, was carried out.

The work was performed in order to increase the reliability and to ensure uninterrupted oil transportation through Transneft’s system of oil trunk pipelines.

Upon completion of the set of measures, Transneft Upper Volga connected the sections to the operating oil trunk pipeline. Pumping of oil is now going on in the standard mode.
