Date of publication: 13 May 2019 Print

Transneft Upper Volga has put a reconstructed section of the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) located in Ivanovo Region into operation.

The works were conducted in compliance with the development, technical upgrading and revamping programme covering Transneft Upper Volga’s trunk pipelines facilities.

The revamping of the OTP section began in June 2018. Scheduled replacement of 706 metres of pipe was performed, which also included a section of the oil trunk pipeline’s underwater crossing of the Verguza River. Specialists of Transneft Upper Volga carried out bank protection works, as well as earthworks, installation and welding works and sheathing and laying works.

The Surgut – Polotsk trunk pipeline was revamped to enhance its reliability and ensure uninterrupted transportation of oil via Transneft’s oil trunk pipeline system.
