Transneft Upper Volga Revamps Gorky – Ryazan-2 Oil Pipeline’s Section in Nizhny Novgorod Region

Transneft Upper Volga has completed the revamping of a Gorky – Ryazan-2 oil trunk pipeline section in Kstovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The scheduled repairs were conducted in accordance with the technical upgrading programme for Transneft Upper Volga’s trunk pipelines’ facilities. 

The revamping of the section began in August 2018. Planned replacement of 473 km of the trunk pipeline was carried out, as well as replacement of a stop valve unit and a corrosion protection system.

 28 people and 21 units of specialty vehicles were involved at the operating facilities.

The revamping of the Gorky – Ryazan-2 oil trunk pipeline’s section was carried out in order to improve reliability and ensure uninterrupted transportation of oil products through the Transneft OTP system.

Following the completion of the work, Transneft Upper Volga performed technological connection of the revamped section to the existing PPTP. The facility is to be commissioned in June 2019.
