Transneft Upper Volga Completes Scheduled Works at Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Upper Volga has completed scheduled repairs of the Gorky – Ryazan-2 and the Almetievsk – Nizhny Novgorod petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTP), the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP), as well as at the offshoot to the Novoselki loading station (LS) of the Ring PPTP.

The repair activities were carried out in the territories of Nizhny Novgorod Region and Moscow Region.

During the downtime of the Lazarevo – Gorky and the Gorky – Koromyslovo sections of the Surgut – Polotsk OTP, 7 valves of the pipeline clean-up and inspection gadget (PIG) traps at the Gorky oil pumping station (PS), as well as a section of the line, were replaced. Employees also connected two sections of the Gorky – Ryazan-2 PPTP. Temporary PIG traps were installed at the offshoot of the Ring PPTP around Moscow (at the Novoselki PS) to inspect the section.

All the work was done within the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Upper Volga. The objective is to maintain the trunk oil pipeline’s operational reliability.
