Transneft Upper Volga has completed technical upgrading of PIG traps at the Volodarskaya line operation dispatcher station of the Volodarsk Regional Petroleum Products Pipeline Directorate in Moscow Region.
The works were conducted as part of the development, technical upgrading and revamping programme covering Transneft Upper Volga’s trunk pipelines facilities.
The technical upgrading measures included installation of 4 PIG traps, laying of 3.83 km of cable products, installation of process pipelines, stop valves and telemetry system equipment. The works were carried out by Transneft Upper Volga’s own resources. The PIG traps were manufactured at Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki.
The installation of the new traps was necessary for timely inspection and assessment of the condition of the Ring petroleum products trunk pipeline, as well as for receiving clean-up gadgets and sealers after completion of scheduled repairs carried out as part of the products pipeline’s overhaul.
After the completion of the repairs, Transneft Upper Volga completed the PIG traps’ technological connection and put them into commercial operation.
