Date of publication: 30 July 2019 Print

Transneft Upper Volga has completed adoption of the automated process control system (APCS) at the Starolikeyevo line operation dispatcher station affiliated with the Gorky Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (Gorky RPD).

The facility’s construction commenced in September 2018, as part of the programme for technical upgrading and overhaul of Transneft Upper Volga’s facilities. The Company assembled the automated process control system, the automated gaseous fire-fighting system for the marshalling panels room, the automated workstation (AWS) of the mainline pumping station (MPS) operator, MPS communication devices and automation system cabinets.

More than 35 kilometres of automation cable lines and over 3 kilometres of power cables were laid.

Introduction of the automation system upgraded the APCS fleet of the Gorky RPD, bringing the automation equipment into compliance with international standards. The use of standard domestically manufactured equipment at the facilities reduces the cost of its acquisition and support.

The technical upgrading enables a wide use of import substitution for instrumentation and automation devices.
