Transneft Upper Volga Completes Scheduled Works at Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow

Transneft Upper Volga has completed a scheduled overhaul of the Western semi-ring of the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow.

The repairs were carried out within the small watercourse of the Desna River on the territory of Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts of Moscow as part of Transneft Upper Volga’s facilities overhaul programme.

A set of measures at the 75th kilometre of the Western semi-ring of the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline included repairs of defects using composite-coupling technology, installation of sheet piles and a sealing chamber. Excavation works, which included erosion and refilling of the pit, were carried out at the facility, and a flaw-detection inspection was performed.

The scheduled works were carried out without reducing pumping regime through Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow. The purpose of the works was to increase reliability and ensure uninterrupted petroleum products transportation via Transneft’s petroleum products trunk pipeline system.
