Transneft Upper Volga Completes Technical Upgrading of Boiler House at Plavsk BPS

Transneft Upper Volga has completed technical upgrading of a modular boiler house at the Plavsk booster pumping station (BPS) located in Plavsk District of Tula Region.

The scheduled activities were carried out as part of the Company’s technical upgrading programme. The objective is enhancing the reliability of heat supply to the oil pumping stations and ensuring uninterrupted oil transportation via Transneft’s system of oil trunk pipelines.

Two tube boilers with the output of 2.0 mW each were installed at the Plavsk BPS. Lightning rods and tanks for backup fuel were constructed. A chimney was replaced, and new process piping of the fuel pipe system and a heating main, as well as a power supply system, fire alarm and automation systems, were installed.

Individual tests were conducted at the facility. On completion of technical upgrade, the new boiler house at the Plavsk BPS was put into operation.
