Transneft Upper Volga Completes Technical Upgrading of Overhead Transmission Line in Ryazan Region

Date of publication: 08 November 2019

Transneft Upper Volga has completed technical upgrading of a 10-kV overhead transmission line (OTL) with a total length of more than 3.2 km at the Gorky – Ryazan oil trunk pipeline section between the Yermish and Shilovo oil pumping stations in Ryazan Region.

The set of measures was conducted as part of the development, technical upgrading and revamping programme covering Transneft’s trunk pipelines facilities.

In the course of work, 54 OTL pylons with transverses and pendant fitting were replaced. Non-insulated wire was replaced with the modern and safe aerial bundled cable, as well as line isolators.

The work was carried out in remote swampland, which complicated the passage of construction equipment. The technical measures were carried out in accordance with regulatory rules and requirements of environmental legislation.

The revamping of the overhead electric power transmission line has significantly improved the quality and ensured additional reliability of the power supply to the Yermish and Shilovo oil pumping stations of Transneft Upper Volga.
