Date of publication: 15 November 2019

Transneft Upper Volga has completed automated process control system technical upgrading at the Prudki oil pumping station (OPS) in Kirov Region.

The works were launched in accordance with the Integrated Technical Upgrading, Revamping and Overhaul Programme for Transneft facilities in October 2018.

Instrumentation and a new microprocessor automation system manufactured using domestic controller equipment were installed and adjusted at the Prudki oil pumping station to replace the old pieces.

Commissioning works and individual tests of the new automated process control system were carried out, as well as integrated performance testing of the equipment. After the tests, the system was commissioned.

The technical upgrading of the microprocessor automation system is part of the modernisation of the Prudki oil pumping station. The goal is to increase the reliability and safety in order to ensure stable oil transportation through Transneft’s oil trunk pipelines.
