Transneft Upper Volga has completed construction of a 10-kV overhead transmission line (OTL) at the Prudki – Sanchursky Trakt section of the Prudki OPS and the Melkovka — Vetluga-1,2 section of the Melkovka OPS, both part of the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline.
The works were conducted in Kirov Region and the Republic of Mari El as part of the development, technical upgrading and revamping programme covering Transneft’s trunk pipeline facilities.
227 reinforced concrete 10 kV-OTL pylons were replaced and bird protection devices were installed. The total length of the reconstructed section of the overhead electric power transmission line is more than 11 km.
The work was carried out in remote swampland, which complicated the passage of construction equipment. Despite this, the technical measures were carried out to the full extend in accordance with regulations and requirements of environmental legislation.
The reconstruction of the 10-kV overhead transmission line has significantly improved the quality and reliability of power supply to the line facilities of the Prudki OPS, the Kilemary OPS and the Melkovka OPS of Transneft Upper Volga.
