Transneft Upper Volga has connected reconstructed sections of the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline. The works were carried out on the territory of Moscow.
The reconstruction of the sections began in August 2018. The pipeline‘s sections for pumping motor petrol, diesel fuel and aircraft fuel were installed and dismantled. Scheduled replacement of line gate valve assemblies at the 61st and 75th kilometres of the Western semi-ring of the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline was completed, and so were welding and assembly, hydraulic and commissioning works. A set of security equipment was installed.
Following the completion of the works, Transneft Upper Volga performed technological connection of the revamped sections to the existing PPTP.
The reconstruction of the RPPTP’s section was implemented as part of the development programme for the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow and the Moscow Aviation Hub in order to increase the volume of petroleum products transported and loaded for consumers of the capital region.
The purpose of the works was to increase reliability and ensure uninterrupted petroleum products transportation via Transneft’s petroleum products trunk pipeline system.
