Date of publication: 02 June 2020

Transneft Upper Volga has completed works on mainline pump replacement at the Makaryevo oil pumping station (OPS) of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Installation of pumping equipment produced by Transneft Oil Pumps (Chelyabinsk) was completed. The equipment has improved resource and operational characteristics that allow to significantly reduce the cost of maintenance and scheduled repairs.

The equipment was replaced during the scheduled 56-hour shutdown of the Makaryevo OPS.    The work was carried under the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft’s facilities, and under the Oil Trunk Pipelines Process Sections and Mainline Pump Units Energy Efficiency Improvement Programme. The goal is to maintain a high level of reliability of operating facilities and ensure uninterrupted oil transportation.

At the end of June, after completion of comprehensive testing, a new mainline pump will be put into operation at the Makaryevo OPS.

Oil transportation through the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline was resumed as scheduled and is currently conducted under the normal protocol.
