Transneft Upper Volga Completes Scheduled Repairs of Trunk Pipelines

A set of technical measures was carried out in the territories of Moscow, Ryazan and Nizhny Novgorod Regions. The goal is to ensure uninterrupted functioning of operating facilities and their environmental safety.

During the scheduled 60-hour shutdown of petroleum products transportation through the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline (RPPTP) around Moscow, midlife repairs of two sliding gate valves and three stop valve units were carried out at the 114th and 13th km.

In addition, two wedge gate valves were replaced at a section of the Ryazan – Tula – Orel petroleum products trunk pipeline, and valves were also repaired at the Almetievsk – Gorky-2 oil trunk pipeline. The operation of the pipelines was suspended for 60 hours.

42 specialists were involved in the repairs, 18 pieces of equipment were used.

After completion of the planned works, transportation of oil and petroleum products along the trunk pipelines was resumed according to the schedule and is conducted under the standard protocol.
