Transneft Upper Volga has completed the replacement of the electric motor of a mainline pump unit at the Starolikeyevo line operation dispatcher station (LODS) in Nizhny Novgorod Region.
A new 1,250 kW electric motor was installed, manufactured by Russian Electric Motors (Chelyabinsk) as part of the import substitution programme. The equipment has improved starting, resource and operational characteristics that allow to significantly reduce the cost of maintenance and scheduled repairs. The service life of the new electric motor has been increased from 20 to 40 years.
All the works were completed as part of Transneft’s technical upgrading, overhaul and revamping programme. The goal is to increase reliability of operating facilities and ensure uninterrupted petroleum products transportation.
The equipment was replaced during a scheduled 72-hour shutdown of the Starolikeyevo LODS and during the reduced mode of transportation of petroleum products through the Gorky – Ryazan-2 petroleum products trunk pipeline (PPTP). The new electric motor will be put into operation after completion of comprehensive testing.
Petroleum products transportation through the Gorky – Ryazan-2 PPTP was resumed in accordance with the schedule and is conducted under the normal protocol.
