Date of publication: 08 July 2020

Transneft Upper Volga has summed up preliminary results of implementation of its programme in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency enhancement for the first half of 2020. A set of measures was taken to optimise the oil pumping process, as well as to replace and repair pumping equipment, which were able to provide 51.5% of the scheduled annual effect of electrical energy savings.

In the six months of 2019, specific electricity consumption decreased by 1.44%, which allowed to save 5.9 million kWh. Savings of thermal energy for this period amounted to over 32.7 Gcal.

Currently, work is underway to replace sections of the heating network at the Balakhonikha oil pumping station (OPS), as well as at the Mari El Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) production service shop.

The company has planned measures to replace lamps with energy saving ones at facilities of the Gorky, Mari El and Ryazan RPD in the amount of 1,523 pieces.

This year, the programme of technical measures provides for replacement of a modular boiler house at the Ermish OPS, as well as for installation of automatic temperature control systems at the Prudki, Balakhonykha and Filino oil pumping stations.

Transneft Upper Volga is actively involved in promoting the principles of careful attitude towards resources. Conferences are regularly held in educational institutions; students' tours to the oil pumping stations of the company, as well as photo contests and competitions of children's drawings, are organised; films about energy saving and energy efficiency are shown to students.
