Transneft Upper Volga has connected revamped sections of the Ryazan — Moscow petroleum products trunk pipeline (PPTP) in Ryazan.
The revamping of the sites has been carried out since February 2019. Scheduled replacement of two legs of the pipeline for petrol and jet fuel transportation with a total length of 3.6 km was performed.
Following the completion of the works, Transneft Upper Volga performed technological connection to the PPTP. The work was carried out during a planned 72-hour shutdown of petroleum products transportation. The events involved 38 people and 14 units of special-purpose vehicles.
Petroleum products transportation was resumed in accordance with the schedule and is conducted under the normal protocol.
The revamping of the PPTP sections was performed as part of Transneft Upper Volga’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme. The goal is to ensure uninterrupted petroleum products transportation via the petroleum products trunk pipeline.
