Transneft Upper Volga has connected revamped section of the Almetievsk – Gorky-3 oil trunk pipeline (OTP). The works were carried out in Lyskovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The revamping of the OTP section was launched in March 2019 as part of company’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme. The goal is to ensure uninterrupted oil transportation through the system of OTPs.
A planned replacement of 7.7 km of the OTP was performed. Specialists revamped telemechanics, electrochemical protection, power supply and electric lighting systems at a stop valve unit and also revamped engineering protection.
Technological connection of the revamped section to the existing OTP was performed during the scheduled 72-hour shutdown of oil transportation. The works involved 47 people and 23 units of special-purpose vehicles.
Oil transportation was resumed on schedule and is currently being carried out according to the standard protocol.
