Transneft Upper Volga Improves Energy Efficiency of PS Heat Supply Facilities

Date of publication: 08 September 2020

Transneft Upper Volga has performed technical upgrading of modular boiler house at the Stepankovo oil pumping station (PS) in Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The works were performed as part of the approved company’s technical upgrading, revamping, and overhaul programme. The goal is to provide reliable heat supply to operating facilities and administrative and amenity buildings of oil pumping stations.

Specialists dismantled an old boiler house and mounted a new block boiler house with a capacity of 4 MW. The facility is equipped with two modern energy efficient boilers with modulating combined burners and chimneys. Automated monitoring allows transmitting data on temperature, pressure, flow rate of a heat-transfer material and heat energy remotely to the duty operator's workplace.

The modern control system of the boiler house allows to adjust automatically the required water temperature and maintain it at the boiler outlet for a certain time.

The used equipment is domestic. It was manufactured at Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki of Transneft Upper Volga. The commissioning of the new boiler house will save boiler and furnace fuels at the Stepankovo PS in the coming heating season.

Individual tests were conducted at the facility. The new boiler house at the Stepankovo PS was put into operation after the technical upgrading.
