Transneft Upper Volga has allocated charitable funds for the construction of the Cultural House in Valki settlement of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The total amount of financing exceeded RUB 60 million.
The opening ceremony of the Cultural House was attended by Director General of Transneft Upper Volga Yury Levin, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Nizhny Novgorod Region Natalya Sukhanova, Vice Chairman of the Regional Legislative Assembly Olga Shchetinina, representatives of the Lyskovsky District Administration. In connection with the requirements for ensuring protection against the spread of coronavirus infection, the relevant rules and regulations were observed.
The new Cultural House was erected on the site of a building built in 1971, which was recognized as emergency and dismantled. New building with the area of 702 m2 has an auditorium with 180 seats and is equipped with modern lighting and sound-amplifying equipment. The Cultural House also has club rooms, a choreography class, a gym and a spacious foyer. In addition, the Cultural House will include a library equipped with laptops with Internet access funded by the company. The Cultural House has a landscaped area and meets all modern safety requirements.
First Deputy Minister of Culture of Nizhny Novgorod Region Natalya Sukhanova thanked Transneft Upper Volga for the charitable project implementation. “By opening such institutions, which are large, comfortable, equipped, we invest resources in the future generation’s education of Nizhny Novgorod Region. And here we see an excellent example of the social responsibility of business to residents and the state,” she said.
Transneft Upper Volga provides support, including funding, to general education institutions, veterans’ and sports organizations, nursery schools, as well as public utility enterprises in the areas where its operational facilities are located, as part of its charitable activities. Over the past eight years, construction, overhaul and reconstruction of 14 secondary schools, 5 nursery schools and two cultural houses were performed at the expense of Transneft in the Transneft Upper Volga area of responsibility.
