Transneft Upper Volga has completed the technical upgrading of the 10 kV route overhead transmission line (OTL) at a section of the Gorky – Novki petroleum products trunk pipeline (PPTP).
The work has been carried out since February in Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod Regions as part of Transneft’s trunk pipelines’ facilities technical upgrading and overhaul programme. The total length of the revamped section of the overhead electric power transmission line was more than 38 km.
Two new shelter-type control and monitoring stations with a capacity of 25 kVA each were installed to power the PPTP. A new section of the OTL with a length of 1.36 km with reinforced concrete supports, disconnectors and points for electrical energy monitoring and metering was built. Non-insulated wire was also replaced with modern and safe aerial bundled cable.
The set of measures was carried out in strict accordance with the regulatory rules and requirements of environmental legislation. After the commissioning works, the OTL was powered and put into operation.
The technical upgrading of the overhead transmission line allowed to increase the reliability of power supply to facilities of the Gorky – Novki PPTP at a section between the Stepankovo PS and the Filino oil pumping stations.
