Transneft Upper Volga Workers Helps Improve Memorial Sites and Monuments to War Heroes

On the eve of the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, employees of Transneft Upper Volga carried out repairs and improvement of 41 monuments and memorials to soldiers.

The events were held in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Tula, Vladimir, Ryazan, Kirov, Ivanovo, Pskov Regions and the Republic of Mari El: the regions of the company’s operation.

The volunteers painted and repaired the monuments, improved the territories of the memorial complexes and mass graves. Among other things, the mass grave of Soviet Army soldiers who died in 1943 in Besedino Settlement, Shelkovskaya Volost, Velikoluksky District of Pskov Region, was improved. In the same area, the Stupinskaya Vysota War Memorial pedestal was repaired.

In addition, an alley of 15 thuja seedlings and more than 100 petunias were planted by volunteers from Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki at the memorial complex with the Eternal Flame and the Alley of Heroes in Velikiye Luki.

Every year on the eve of the Great Victory, Transneft Upper Volga implements themed charity and volunteer projects. Great attention is paid to supporting veterans, including retirees who are former employees of the company. In addition, assistance is traditionally provided to the Kurgan unit in Nizhny Novgorod in conducting search operations in Bely District of Tver Region.
