Transneft Upper Volga celebrates its 45th anniversary of operation.

In 1976, the Ministry of Oil Industry of the USSR established the Upper Volga Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate — Verkhnevolzhsknefteprovod. In 2014, the Directorate was renamed into Transneft Upper Volga Joint Stock Company.

Today, Transneft Upper Volga is the largest backbone company, employing 7,600 people and operating in 14 regions of Russia. It is included in the list of strategic joint stock companies and is a main customer for goods, works and services, as well as a major taxpayer.

Transneft Upper Volga ensures safe and uninterrupted transportation of oil and petroleum products in Central Russia. Among the most significant projects being implemented is the revamping of the fuel ring of the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow. The Volodarskaya line operation dispatcher station (the largest of company's facilities) was revamped; it transports and ships around 10,000 tonnes of petroleum products daily.

The company includes Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki and Industrial Automation Centre. They develop, manufacture and service specialised products for construction and operation of trunk pipelines. These products were awarded with certificates of the nationwide competition under the 100 Best Goods of Russia programme.

Transneft Upper Volga is a company of high social responsibility. Over the past 10 years, it has donated RUB 5.5 billion to charity.

A solemn event dedicated to the 45th anniversary of operation, as well as to the professional holiday (Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day) was held at the company's executive office in Nizhny Novgorod.

The event was attended by Yury Levin, Director General of Transneft Upper Volga, Yevgeny Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mikhail Morozov, Minister of Energy, Housing and Utilities of the region, representatives of executive authorities, managers, employees and veterans of the company.

Jubilantly, Mr. Levin handed out departmental and corporate awards to distinguished employees present at the event. The best employees from the executive office of Transneft Upper Volga and its branches received departmental awards, including diplomas of merit and commendations from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and Transneft.

In addition, employees who demonstrated high labour results were awarded diplomas of merit and letters of appreciation from Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, certificates of merit from the Regional Ministry of Energy, Housing and Utilities, as well as letters of appreciation from the Legislative Assembly.

“This holiday unites hundreds of thousands of professionals who are devoted daily, around the clock, to a common cause — ensuring energy security and socio-economic development of our country. These people are you and me. It is our professional holiday when you more than ever realise that we are one big and friendly family! A family named Transneft”, - said Mr. Levin.

“Nizhny Novgorod Region is crossed by hundreds of kilometres of oil trunk pipelines that pump crude oil, petrol and diesel fuel around the clock for needs of citizens. Specialists of Transneft Upper Volga are responsible for effective functioning of the entire system. Their conscientiousness, responsibility and professionalism are the best guarantee of uninterrupted operation,” stressed Mr. Lyulin.

On its 45th anniversary, Transneft Upper Volga implemented large-scale charity and volunteer projects in regions of company’s operation.
