Transneft Upper Volga Completes Scheduled Works at Facilities in Regions of Central Russia

Transneft Upper Volga has completed scheduled repairs of trunk pipelines in Nizhny Novgorod, Kirov, Ivanovo, Vladimir and Moscow Regions, as well as in the Mari El Republic.

The works were carried out during the scheduled shutdown of the Surgut –Polotsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) and the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow (RPPTP).

Stop valves were repaired and replaced, 2 built pipeline clean-up and inspection tools’ traps were connected. In addition, 48 defects were eliminated, increasing the safe operating life of the pipeline sections to 30 years. The installed equipment will allow to maintain a high level of industrial and environmental safety.

During the repair period, a total of more than 8,000 m3 of oil and petroleum products were pumped out of the pipelines with the help of 12 mobile pumping units. At the end of the work, the pipelines were refilled.

The works involved more than 350 people, 90 pieces of equipment were used.

The scheduled repairs were performed in accordance with the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme. The goal was to ensure uninterrupted functioning of operating facilities.

The transportation of oil and petroleum products was resumed as per schedule and is currently carried out under the standard protocol.
